What to expect
You'll be collected from your Ayers Rock Resort hotel and travel into the national park with your driver guide providing commentary on the landscape and Uluru as it comes into view. Before sunset, you'll have time to take in the scenery. After sundown, you'll transfer to the barbecue site set amongst red dunes and desert oak, where a spread of Australian meats and salads awaits, with wine, beer and soft drinks available throughout the meal.
After dinner, tea, coffee and dessert are served. Your guide then conducts a night-sky tour, using a spotlight to help identify constellations visible in the southern sky and relating Aboriginal stories connected to them. Weather permitting, you'll have clear visibility of the stars from this remote location away from resort lights. The experience concludes with transfer back to your hotel.

Good to know
Strong fit for anyone wanting to experience Uluru's landscape and Indigenous star culture without a full-day commitment; works well for couples, families and mixed-fitness groups. Stargazing is weather-dependent—cloud cover or poor visibility will limit constellation views. The national park entry fee (AUD38 adults) is separate and not included. Peak times may result in larger groups. The remote barbecue site provides genuine quiet and dark skies but requires comfort with basic outdoor dining. Summer evenings (November–March) are hot; bring water and sun protection. Pickup and drop-off limited to Ayers Rock Resort hotels only.
